Brand Identity Development

The Langham Hotels Internatinal group was rebranding their entire chain of hotels and was looking to expand. I was brought in as lead designer amongst a multidisciplinary team at Chandelier Creative to communicate their rebranding efforts graphically through their identity for their two main branches; The Langham Place as well as for The Langham Hotels & Resorts. Two distinct identities were to be developed, each targeting their specific demographic but maintaining a consistent connection with their mother brand, Langham Hotels International.


The Langham Place branch was to target a young, hip, modern demographic with locations in Hong Kong, Beijing, Thailand, India, Auckland, & Guangzhou, amongst others. A graphic system was developed to be applied to all their collateral including elements such as stationary, in room directories, key cards and toiletries amongst many others. A detailed corporate manual was developed to guide the hotel on the application of their new identity.


Following the rebrand, The Langham Place was recognised as one of the "Best Five Star Hotels" by Travel Weekly Asia Magazine in 2007.
